Teranga Women House Launches in Saint-Louis to Empower Women

Saint-Louis, September 19, 2026 — Teranga Women House was officially launched in Saint-Louis with the aim of supporting and empowering women facing social and economic challenges.

Founded by Diarry Diop, the initiative seeks to promote women''s independence and provide support to vulnerable women, particularly those affected by domestic violence. It extends the work of the Immigrant Women’s Justice Center (IWJC), a nonprofit organization established in the United States in 2025.

Teranga Women House has partnered with Buzz Women Senegal to develop training programs and master classes focused on financial security, entrepreneurship, communication, and other skills supporting women''s personal and professional development.

The two organizations also plan to expand their activities across Senegal, including through university campuses, to reach more women, strengthen their skills and help them turn their ideas and projects into reality.

The launch was welcomed by Abdoukhadre Dieylani Ba, Deputy Prefect of Saint-Louis, who encouraged women in the region to connect with the organizers and benefit from the programs designed to support their empowerment.
